The demo is the whole Kanbei workspace, filled with made-up people, groups, and events. No sign-up, no account — your demo is saved in your browser, and it resumes where you left off. Press Exit demo to clear it and start fresh. Try everything: add an event, take attendance, post an announcement (sends are a test-send only in the demo — nothing leaves Kanbei), check someone in.
Pick a sample group
Start by picking a sample group: Martial arts school, Daycare, Nonprofit, or Club. The demo reloads with made-up people, groups, and events for that kind of group. Switching starts fresh — nothing carries over.
Tailor it with two questions
Not sure which sample fits? Press “Answer a few quick questions” in the sample-group picker. It runs the same two questions you answer when you create a real org — what kind of group it is, and which tools you need — and rebuilds the demo with the closest sample group and only the tools you picked.
What works, and what does not
Almost everything works the way it does in a real org, with sample data: the calendar day popup, the kiosk, the Jobs board, the member’s own page. A few things are off on purpose — file uploads, and anything that needs a real account, such as signing in or connecting your own email. The banner strip at the top has a sun/moon toggle for dark mode, and an “Exit demo” button.
Leaving the demo
Your demo is saved in this browser — it resumes where you left off. Press Exit demo to clear it and start fresh. Nothing you did in the demo touches a real org, and nothing in a real org shows up in the demo.
Doing this in Kanbei
Open /demo, pick a sample group — or answer the two quick questions — and try the workspace. When you are ready for your own org, create an account: creating an org is free, and you subscribe only after it exists, at $20 a month, plus applicable taxes, for the whole organization.
