A form is a public link anyone can open and fill in — no account, no app. Use it for sign-ups, requests, feedback, or anything you would otherwise collect in a group chat thread. Every answer lands in one list you can read and count.
Build the form
Open Forms from the sidebar and make a new one: a title, a short description of what it is for, and your questions. Ask only the questions you will use — every question is a reason to put the phone down. Choose whether answers add or match people by email: with that on, an answer from someone already on your list attaches to their record, and a new email creates a new person.
Share the link
Every form has its own public link. Paste it where people already are — the group chat, the newsletter, your public page. Anyone with the link can fill it in; nothing sensitive belongs in the description, because anyone with the link can read it.
Show a question only when it applies
Once a form has two or more questions, each question after the first gets a “Show only if” row. Pick an earlier question and the answer that should reveal this one — for example, show “Which size?” only when “Do you need a shirt?” is answered “Yes”. A question with no condition is always shown. It keeps short forms short: people only see the questions that apply to them.
Waivers, signed by typing a name
One of the eight question types is “Waiver (signed by typing a name)”. Add it to a form, write the waiver text people agree to, and the person signs by typing their name when they fill the form in. It is the same public link and the same answers list — the signed waiver arrives with the rest of the answers.
Read the answers, then close it
Open the form to read its answers, with who added or matched to a person in your list. When sign-ups are done, close the form: the link then says it is not taking answers. Reopen it any time if you need more.
Doing this in Kanbei
Open Forms (turn it on in Settings → Tools if it is not on your sidebar), build the form, and share the link. Forms can also appear on your public page. It costs $20 a month, plus applicable taxes, for the whole organization, with unlimited members.
