Click any day on the calendar and a popup opens showing that day’s events. You can add a new event or edit one right there in the popup, without scrolling to a form at the bottom of the page — there is no form at the bottom of the calendar anymore.
Add an event from a day
Click a day, then “Add event” in the popup. A new event is prefilled for that day, 10:00–11:00, so most of the time you only type the title. Fill in the time, place, and details if you need them, save, and the popup drops back to the day’s list — you are still looking at the same day.
Edit an event in place
Click an event in the day’s list and its form opens in the same popup. Change what you need and save; closing the form takes you back to the day’s list, not out of the popup. Close the popup itself with the close button, the Escape key, or by clicking outside it.
See the whole day
“View full day” in the popup jumps to the day view for that date, where you see the day’s events in order with their times. The popup works in the month and week views; the day view is where a single busy day is easiest to read.
Where search went
The search bar that used to sit in the header is gone. The one search is now the sidebar “Jump to…” — press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) anywhere in the workspace, type a few letters, and jump to a page or start an action. The Search page itself still lists matching people, groups, events, jobs, announcements, files, and dues.
Doing this in Kanbei
Open Calendar from the sidebar, click a day, and add or edit events in the popup. New events start at 10:00–11:00 on the day you clicked. “View full day” opens the day view. For anything else, press ⌘K and use “Jump to…”. The demo calendar at /demo/calendar works the same way, with sample events.
