An announcement is one short post for the whole org or for one group. Write it once, send it to the right people, and let members ask questions in the thread underneath it instead of in a separate chat.
Write it short, send it to the right people
Say what is happening, when, and what people should do. Send it to the whole org, or target one group — a message for the welcome team does not need to reach everyone. Save messages you send often as templates, so the weekly reminder is a few clicks instead of a rewrite.
Send it now, or schedule it
Post now, or set a publish time and it appears in the workspace then. An announcement can also go out by email or text, through the email or text account you connected in Connectors — with an email or text account connected, a scheduled post also goes out at its publish time. After a send, the delivery report shows how many were sent, failed, or skipped.
Let people ask questions on the announcement itself
Every announcement has a comment thread underneath it, so a question gets asked and answered right there instead of in a separate chat. An announcement can just be a question to everybody — post it, and members reply in the thread. Only signed-in members can comment; each comment shows who wrote it and when. Owners and admins can turn comments off for the whole organization in Settings, under “Announcement comments” — they are on by default, and turning them off hides the thread from every announcement.
Doing this in Kanbei
Open Announcements, write the post, pick the audience, and send it now or schedule it. Email and text sends need a connected account in Connectors first — without one, the announcement still posts in the workspace, but nothing goes out. Automatic welcome, birthday, and renewal emails are switched on in Settings, under “Automatic messages”. It costs $20 a month, plus applicable taxes, for the whole organization, with unlimited members.
